HISTORY Street LIFE Ministries was founded in 1997 and exists to mobilize,train and equip and serve the Body of Christ, to be engaged as part of the solution for those in need in New York Cityand globally by bringing the Gospel in power and creative, practical, and relevant means. In the past several years, our organization has coordinated outreach opportunities for hundreds of teams (as well as numerous individuals) of volunteers to demonstrate the love of God to the people in New York City. Our activities range from serving in soup kitchens, working with our mobile "soup kitchen" to street evangelism using the tools of music and drama. It is our desire to connect interested individuals with local churches or church programs and at the same time, encourage involvement of local church members to reach out to the communities. We service teams of all ages (youth, college/career age, middle-aged and older), by coordinating an outreach or mission trip for them in New York City. The summer months are usually the busiest time but we offer these services year-round. A team will actually stay with us for about a week or two, where we will teach a variety of subjects that cover an overview of New York City, relationship with God, relationship with one another, love for the lost, fear of the Lord, missions, evangelism and practical "how to" application of what they have learned. Along with the training, they are scheduled accordingly each day in different areas of the city for evangelism and/or service. We work with the leader of each team prior to their trip so that we can facilitate shared objectives. Throughout the year Street LIFE Ministries continues ministering to the poor and the homeless through our Mobile Resource Center. Basically we demonstrate the love of God by providing physical assistance in tandem with spiritual counseling. Resources we offer include food, clothing, hygiene packs, and referrals for other needs. 24/7 Prayer and worship is a major goal we are committed to fulfilling through the Queens House of Prayer, Flushing, which was officially launched in June 2003. Street LIFE Ministries plays a vital role in this establishment in a cooperative effort with other community pastors and leaders. Each year, we plan a global trip with a definite evangelistic thrust. In the past, Street LIFE Ministries has gone to Venezuela, Jamaica, Haiti, Ukraine, and Brazil. We work with a ministry and/or local church in coordination with the schedule. A team can consist of individuals from one church or several church groups collectively. We usually plan a 2-week trip where there is teaching, worship, devotions and outreach that utilizes the tools of music and drama. David has been invited to different churches, conferences, and rallies to challenge the Body of Christ with an uncompromising message of the Gospel. He will preach on a variety of subjects but the underlying theme of all is the heartbeat of the ministry, which is "to go into all the world and preach the Gospel." He will go wherever he is invited and speak about Street LIFE Ministries as well as give opportunity to be involved personally. Street LIFE Ministries also offers opportunity for those interested in long term missions. We combine daily work, street evangelism, prayer and worship, along with teaching, training, and discipleship for practical and spiritual application in both the individuals life as well as a corporate team for Street LIFE Ministries.
