PRAYER STATION

The Prayer Station is an effective and non-offensive way to bring Jesus and the Gospel into the neighborhoods of NYC. It consists of a table loaded with plenty of tracts, Bibles and other literature, a very visible red banner that reads "PRAYER STATION", and workers donned with aprons to match. We set up the table in a high pedestrian traffic area such as a public transit hub, a street market, or even Times Square for New Year's eve. Once in place, workers approach individuals with a question such as, "Is there anything that I can pray for you about?"

The Prayer Station ministry doesn't come to gather donations or to say, "You must listen to me." But rather to give love, care, a listening ear, and to pour God's blessing into the community. More often than not, a simple request for prayer leads into sharing the Gospel. Many incredible testimonies come back of healings, repentance and faith in Christ, families being restored, and countless others.
SLM had a Prayer Station set up at Ground Zero to minister to all the workers. Read the story on our World Trade Center Crisis page.
